The Brown University Class of 1980 graduated on May 24, 1980. When we started in 1976, Brown had a total of 6,540 students in all classes and degree programs, including 3,870 men and 2,670 women. (For comparison purposes, women started outnumbering men at Brown in 1994.) We came to Brown from 41 different states and 16 different countries. Here's a quick look at our top areas of concentration:

  • Political Science (including pre-law studies)

  • Biology / Biological Sciences (including pre-med studies)

  • Public Policy and Government

  • Applied mathematics

  • History

  • Engineering

  • Comparative Literature and Classics (various languages)

  • Econometrics and quantitative economics

  • Computer Science

  • Psychology and Neuroscience

Today, 1980 alumni can be found in almost every area of the United States and at least 20 countries around the world. Our careers have spanned virtually every field of endeavor, from the fine arts and foreign service to business, government and medicine. While some of us are retired, many continue to volunteer their time and talents in nonprofits.
